Flashing

Flashing is when a fish rubs up against objects in the aquarium to itch itself. Some flashing is normal, but when it's a repeated behavior or when they rub themselves raw, that's when something is wrong. When the fish flashes, its lighter underside gets lighter, causing it to look a bit like a flash of light. Flashing is generally caused by parasites such as flukes or ich.
